三覺

(三覺, 三觉)

The three kinds of enlightenment:

(1) (a) [lang id =1028]自覺 Enlightenment for self; (b) [lang id =1028]覺他 for others; (c) [lang id =1028]覺行圓 (or [lang id =1028]窮) [lang id =1028]滿 perfect enlightenment and accomplishment; the first is an arhat's, the first and second a bodhisattva's, all three a Buddha's.

(2) From the <Awakening of Faith> [lang id =1028]起信論 (a) [lang id =1028]本覺 inherent, potential enlightenment or intelligence of every being; (b) [lang id =1028]始覺 , initial, or early stages of such enlightenment, brought about through the external perfuming or influence of teaching, working on the internal perfuming of subconscious intelligence; (c) [lang id =1028]究竟覺 completion of enlightenment, the subjective mind in perfect accord with the subconscious (or superconscious) mind, or the inherent intelligence.

◆﹝出翻譯名義﹞ 覺有三義： 謂自覺、 覺他、 覺行圓滿也。 唯妙覺果佛， 具足三覺。 故華嚴經云： 奇哉大導師， 自覺能覺他。 是也。 〔一、 自覺〕， 謂覺知過去未來現在三世一切諸法常無常等， 悟性真空， 了惑虛妄， 功成妙智， 道證圓覺， 故名自覺。 〔二、 覺他〕， 謂運無緣慈度諸眾生， 皆令離生死苦， 得涅槃樂， 故名覺他。 （梵語涅槃， 華言滅度。 ） 〔三、 覺行圓滿〕， 謂三惑淨盡， 眾德悉備， 位登妙覺， 行滿果圓， 故名覺行圓滿。 （三惑者， 見、 思惑、 塵沙惑、 無明惑也。 ） ◆﹝出圓覺經疏并起信論﹞ 〔一、 本覺〕， 謂一切眾生， 自性清淨， 心體本來覺了， 離諸妄念， 故名本覺。 〔二、 始覺〕， 謂本覺之體， 忽起妄念， 而成不覺， 今始覺了一切諸法即是真如， 平等不二， 故名始覺。 〔三、 究竟覺〕， 究竟即決定終窮之義也。 謂能覺了染心之源， 究竟終窮， 同於本覺， 故名究竟覺。

１．自覺、 覺他、 覺行圓滿。 自覺是使自己覺悟， 但要斷盡三界內的見思惑和三界外的塵沙無明惑， 才能算是達到自覺的地位； 覺他是將自己所覺悟的真理傳播給別人， 使他人也覺悟； 覺行圓滿謂所覺悟的程度， 已經達到究竟圓滿的境界。 ２．本覺、 始覺、 究竟覺。 本覺是一切眾生本來就有的自性清淨心； 始覺是本覺被無明蒙蔽之後， 又開始漸除無明， 漸息妄心， 恢復其固有的本覺； 究竟覺是終極徹底的覺悟， 也就是佛的覺悟。
